Final Fantasy 13’s Lightning Models for Louis Vuitton – Update

Update: Square Enix has issued a press release and provided some new official images of Lightning wearing the fashion brand's clothing.

“The stunning new look of Lightning including her poses and character in action was fully produced by Louis Vuitton,” said Tetsuya Nomura, Lightning's character designer, said. ”Additionally, thanks to the Visual Works team, they were able to produce brilliant work under a tight schedule. This collaboration is not just a promotion of a game, and it is a great honor that the character herself received an offer from a world famous brand. As a result of this collaboration, this has infused new breath into the character, Lightning.” 

Louis Vuitton's Nicolas Ghesquière added, "Lightning is the perfect avatar for a global, heroic woman and for a world where social networks and communications are now seamlessly woven into our life."

Original Story: Final Fantasy 13's Lightning has appeared in a new ad campaign for French fashion brand Louis Vuitton. 

Louis Vuitton's creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere posted the "Series 4" video on his personal Instagram, where he described Lightning as a "genuine heroine".

Ghesquiere adds that the campaign's art is the result of a collaboration between Square Enix's Visual Works and Tetsuya Nomura, specifically for the fashion house. The clothes modeled by Lightning were originally revealed during Louis Vuitton's spring/summer 2016 fashion show in October, which you can watch on their YouTube channel. Notably, the first model shares Lightning's trademark pink hair.
