The Gran Turismo website has been updated with new sales data, confirming that the series sales have reached 76,490,000.
Developer Polyphony Digital has revealed that Gran Turismo 6, which launched late in the PlayStation 3's life-cycle sold 4.7 million copes, which amounts to fewer units than either Gran Turismo 4 or 5 managed.
Sony and Polyphony have recently announced GT Sport, though the developer says the game shouldn't be considered Gran Turismo 7. A beta for the game is planned for early next year.
The original Gran Turismo launched in December 1997.
