Lead producer of the newest Hitman game, Hakan Abrak, recently spoke to Eurogamer and revealed an all new hardcore mode. The mode was created specifically with veterans of the series in mind, and is meant to be played in a 'true stealth assassin style.'
The announcement comes in light of criticism of what seems to be a departure of the series' sneaky roots. Hakan attempts to mitigate those concerns by stating that what we've seen of the game thus far is meant to highlight new features, not necessarily be indicative of a different focus for the series.
"We will get into more details at a later point, but obviously it's linked to the playing style," Abrak explains. "It's more pacify your enemies, be undetected, maybe solve the challenges in a smarter way. That will probably give you a stealth assassin achievement."
Though not specifically named, the mode is stated to "please the hardcore fans."
