Halo 5’s New Assassination Animations Look Really Brutal

December 15, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Here’s what the new assassination moves in Halo 5 look like.

Halo 5 is set to receive a free update this week, which comes with two new assassinations.  For those not in the know, assasinations are close-range melee kills that one-shot enemies.

Developer 343 Industries has released two GIFs showcasing the assassinations, which look incredibly brutal compared to most of the content in the game, which doesn't even have blood.

The first of these assasinations is called Nice Try and features the about-to-be-killed player perform a roundhouse kick on his assailant before he has his leg grabbed and driven into the ground, head-first before having his head crushed under the heel of the assassin.

The second assassination is Oh Snap, and it has the assassin snapping the victim's arm in half before stabbing him in the face visor.

343 Industries posted a blog showcasing these animations, which you can see below. Should someone perform these assassinations on you, it's possible for a teammate to interrupt the attack, so keep your friends close.
