Pokken Gets Wii U Release Trailer, Wii U Gets Pokken Controller

December 15, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

If you can’t go to Japan but want to play it like Japanese arcade gamers do, you’ll get your chance.

What was your reaction when the Pokken controller was first revealed? If you wanted one for yourself, you’re in luck.

Nintendo will be releasing a special version of the Pokken controller for the Wii U. It’s exactly the same as the controller you see in arcades. Of course, this includes Nintendo’s distinctive d-pad. Curiously, the ZL and ZR buttons were also added to the controller, but placed in front, as small buttons next to the Select and Start buttons.

Bandai Namco has also shared an introduction trailer for the upcomingPokken port to Wii U. While Pokken  is currently exclusive to Japanese arcades, once it hits the Wii U, it will be available internationally.

Pokken  will be released on March 18, 2016 in Japan and in spring 2016 for North America and Europe. Are you looking forward to the game and its controller? Share yoru thoughts with us in the comments. Watch the Wii U announce trailer above.
