It’s been a packed season for sci-fi games. Today saw the release of Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space on PS Vita and Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair for PS4. If you like B-movies, you’ll probably like these – though XSEED Games’s Ryan Graff says the new versions take “several steps beyond [their] B-movie roots.”
If you’re not enticed, definitely check out this launch trailer for EDF 4.1; it’ll give you a glimpse of the game’s 500+ different weapons and vehicles, nearly 100 different battle scenarios, and 5+ difficulties. The best part about EDF 4.1 is that it has a two-player split-screen mode (versus AND co-op!) for offline multiplayer, and EDF 2 has a new online Rumble Mode where four players (or less) can have a showdown.
