CS: Global Offensive WInter Update Adds Killcam and New Gun

December 9, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

The winter update for CSGO is out.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has gotten its huge Winter update today that brings with it a killcam (finally!), an all new weapon, and a bunch of changes to the gameplay.

The winter update's killcam, referred to as Killer Replay by Valve, pops up when you get killed. It shows you the last seconds of gameplay before you got shot and who killed you, providing you with all the information and details you need by showing it from the perspective of your killer. The feature only appears in Demolition and Casual, for competitive reasons.

The new weapon being added is the R8 Revolver, which can be found in the Desert Eagle loadout slot. To commemorate its release, Valve has added the Revolver Case for players to collect skins to customize it.

Competitive matchmaking times have been adjusted to 1:55 and 0:40 for round and C4, respectively. These are the times they use for CSGO Major Championships.

The full patch notes can be found here.
