Koei Tecmo Announces Nioh At PlayStation Experience

December 7, 2015 by Carlos Chism

The title will be exclusive to PlayStation 4.

This past Saturday, Koei Tecmo announced that it would be publishing what looks like a new RPG by studio Team Ninja, called Nioh. The company has since then released details about the game, along with screenshots, as reported by Gematsu. They describe the game as a “a dark, samurai-centric action RPG,” where players traverse a war-torn Japan as a man named William. He has a background as a fierce warrior and seasoned knowledge of the blade allows him to survive in the demon-plagued land of the samurai.”

The demons mentioned are known as Yokai, and inhabit several dangerous locations, lying in wait to ambush unsuspecting victims. The player will face off with other samurai in supernatural sword battles and multi-target engagements. The story takes place during the Warring States Period of Japanese history. The details conclude: Nioh will challenge players in a way that makes every mission and accomplishment feel earned and worthwhile. More information on this comprehensive, action-packed RPG experience will be released in the coming months.”

A gallery of the released screenshots can be viewed below.
