Heroes of the Storm’s Latest Battleground Has a Twist

November 26, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

The Towers of Doom have an interesting mechanic.

Blizzard remains hard at work at improving Heroes of the Storm and adding new content to the game. Part of its efforts to develop new stuff include maps, the latest of which has been showcased today called Towers of Doom.

Unlike other maps in the game, players will have to indirectly damage either team's core by controlling towers that spawn altars that cause damage to the enemy core. In normal maps, players simply charge in and do damage to the core, eventually destroying it and winning the match.

The video showcases how players will not be able to damage the cores directly and will have to use these offensive bases to do so. The area directly in front of each core is a no-entry zone, which only mercenaries can traverse. So players will have to recruit their help to win.

Finally, there's a boss on the map that damages the enemy core when it dies, so players will want to take it down to gain the upper hand.
