The Monster Hunter X demo has released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan.
The demo is 232 MB, or 1861 blocks in size. The demo lets players fight three monsters, Nargacuga, Hororo-Horuru, and Dosu Maccau.
The new feature that players will have to contend with is a new status the monsters can enter, called outraged monster or vicious monster. This manifests in a black mist that covers a certain body part of the monster. This acts like an infection, making the mist covered body part a target. However, contrary to expectation, it makes the monsters more powerful, and gives them even more attacks.
Our source GainjinHunter compares the new outrage status to Frenzy from previous Monster Hunter games. You can learn more in his video above, as well as on his blog.
Monster Hunter X will be released in Japan on November 28. It has still not been confirmed for release outside the region, but considering Monster Hunter’s newly found popularity in the West, this seems like it will just be a matter of time.
