Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s FOB Update Teased On Livestream

November 17, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Famitsu seems to have the 411, including getting that Raiden skin playable on FOBs.

Are you still playing with the FOBs in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain? Famitsu has revealed it is about to receive an interesting update.

Famitsu had the exclusive first reveal of these new features coming to the FOBs in their livestream. While we don’t have a full translation yet, these are what were visible on their stream:

The Raiden costume will be usable on FOB, complete with all its known abilities;

You will now be able to position cameras on your FOB, to monitor enemy interference.

Finally, Skull encounters will be incorporated into the game as well. Whether these are soldiers you can actually recruit for your FOBs, or complete wild cards, remains to be seen, but they definitely appear to be a threat.

FOBs are one of the less popular features of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, but if Konami will update it with the regularity of other online shooters, they may at least keep dedicated fans playing for a while.

Would you buy or play Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain knowing that this was incoming? Share your thoughts with us in the comments, and watch some videos below.
