RAGE has Driver Issues on PC, Fix Released

October 5, 2011 by Mat Growcott

RAGE had graphical issues at launch but, thanks to the sheer weight of fan criticism, those issues have been fixed. Find a link to the new drivers below.

So you’ve been waiting for RAGE all this time, you’ve read every feature online and in magazines and you’ve examined every piece of new information like it could contain a cure for cancer. You buy the PC version, finish installing and are met with…screen tearing, texture pop-in and frame rate issues.

The internet was not happy.

Id Software put it down to driver issues and assured angry fans that they were working as hard as they could with AMD to solve the problem. Ladies and gentlemen, start your modems – the new drivers are now available for download and apparently solve many of the original problems. Complaints of texture pop-in have continued, however, going to show that RAGE still needs a little fine tuning.

The disappointment of those who tried playing after the midnight launch aside, it’s fairly impressive how quickly those drivers made it out into public. With all that considered, I think I’m still getting the console version …
