As a whole, the Batman Arkham is hailed as the best Batman games ever, some of the best superhero games ever, and yes, some of the best video games ever. They were known for their impressive visuals, their gripping stories (most of the time), the impressive use of Batman’s rogue’s gallery to its true full potential, the voice acting, the combat system, and more. But, as you all likely know, there are a couple of “dark spots” in that franchise. Arkham Knight failed to live up to what Arkham City did, and then, there’s Batman Arkham Origins.
Batman Arkham Origins was not made by Rocksteady (who made Asylum, City and Knight), rather, it was made by WB Montreal, who was the team who had ported the previous games to PC. They were given the task of recreating what Arkham Asylum and City did to give gamers something to enjoy before Arkham Knight came out (as it suffered many delays). The result was a game that hit on many levels, and did expand certain things, but many consider it the “black sheep” of the family due to various things that happened in the game, and the shift from other things. Such as the recasting of voice actors and more.
However, even in spite of that, one rumor states that the game might be getting a remaster soon. The rumor states that the remaster will add new skins, new challenges, and a photo mode.
Whether it’s true or not is debatable, but we do know that the other DC Comics games are in a weird state right now with one continually getting delayed and Gotham Knights (the game not the show) possibly getting some mixed feelings from fans. So perhaps a remaster of “better times” might just be what the doctor ordered.
