Cyberpunk 2077 Now Larger Focus Of CD Projekt RED, Smaller Team On The Witcher 3 Blood & Wine

November 1, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

By the time Blood and Wine releases, the Polish studio will have mostly switched over to Cyberpunk 100 %.

It’s been three years since CD Projekt RED announced Cyberpunk 2077, but they were working on it at the same time as The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. Today the studio revealed they have largely refocused on Cyberpunk 2077.

CD Projekt RED SVP of business and publishing Michal Nowakowski shared this statement:

The team is divided right now. There's a sizable team still working on [The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine], but an even more sizable team has actually been working on Cyberpunk for quite a while right now.

The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine is planned for release by Q1 2016, by which point it is likely the whole studio will have moved over into Cyberpunk 2077. Given their release history, it may take a while before we see Cyberpunk 2077 get released on PC. As our source noted, it still has not been confirmed for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One as well.

Are you ready for another three year wait for Cyberpunk 2077? Would you mind if the game passed over this console generation? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
