The Callisto Protocol Announced at Sony’s State of Play

The Callisto Protocol is a new kind of survival horror game from the Dead Space creator Glen Schofield. The release trailer was shared today during Sony’s State of Play, chilling us to the bone!

The game is set 300 years into the future, on Jupiter’s Moon: Callisto. Protagonist Jacob Lee is forced to make his way through prison and defeat all kinds of horrifying monsters. According to Schofield, you will need to use different kinds of weapons in order to take the once-human “Biophages” down. And you won’t necessarily feel powerful while doing it.

“We want you to be afraid of single enemies,” he said. “All these tools we built up for Jacob are to deal with the difficulty as opposed to coming at it from the end of, ‘hey, you can kill all these cool things, now let’s make some enemies’. We did it in reverse for that very reason. You feel scared, and you have to make the right calls at the right time.”
