The Witcher 2 Gets Upgraded to Version 2.0

September 29, 2011 by Ian Miles Cheong

The 2.0 patch for The Witcher 2 has finally been released, and overhauls the game with an all new difficulty setting, gameplay mode, and a tutorial.

The Witcher 2 has just gotten a huge update with the release of the 2.0 patch, which adds a new tutorial system for beginners, a special Dark difficulty setting for masochists, and a new arcade-style Arena Mode that has Geralt fending wave upon wave of enemies.

Additionally, the patch contains technical fixes and gameplay enhancements from all the previous patches, including 9 DLC packs.

The new Dark difficulty setting will challenge players more than ever before, and allow Geralt to acquire three new sets of armor (light, medium, and heavy) and three new sets of dark swords (3 silver, 3 steel). Furthermore, players will see the inclusion of other Dark themes and elements within the game proper.

Players who manage to complete the game in Dark Mode should take a screenshot of their accomplishment and send it off to [email protected] to collect a signed Collector's Edition of The Witcher 2 from the dev team.
