Star Wars Battlefront Recommended Specs Revealed, Will Have No Microtransactions

October 6, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Minimum specs are forgiving, and it fact it seems like Battlefront could have been ported to more platforms.

EA DICE has revealed the recommended specs for Star Wars Battlefront, as well as information on microstransactions that may surprise you.

Minimum specs are forgiving, allowing you to use an i3 6300T, and modern video cards at the lower end of the scale, such as the GTX 660 3GB and Radeon HD 7850 2GB. It does make one wonder if DICE could have made adjustments to have the game available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U.

You can read the minimum and recommended specs below:

Minimum PC System Requirements

OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later

Processor (Intel): Intel i3 6300T or equivalent

Memory: 8GB RAM

Hard Drive: At least 40 GB of free space

Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB

Graphics card (ATI): ATI Radeon HD 7850 2GB

DirectX: 11.0 Compatible video card or equivalent

Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection

Recommended PC System Requirements

OS: 64-bit Windows 10 or later

Processor (Intel): Intel i5 6600 or equivalent

Memory: 16GB RAM

Hard Drive: At least 40 GB of free space

Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB

Graphics card (AMD): AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB

DirectX: 11.1 Compatible video card or equivalent

Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection

In a recent interview, design director Niklas Fegraeus shared the microtransactions shocker; namely, that Battlefront won’t have any.

Instead, there will be a two tier currency system, for points and credits. You earn the credits from playing and completing challenges, and when pressed for assurances, Niklas guaranteed it would absolutely be the only way to earn them.

Of course, the credits will allow you to buy bigger and better gear, but the way the game is being set up now means high level players will be at an advantage, so hopefully DICE has made adjustments to balance this out for all players.

Presumably, these choices for low PC requirements and no microtransactions are to keep Disney and Star Wars happy that EA will do the IP good. How do you feel about these calls? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.

Star Wars Battlefront will be released on November 17 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.
