Mobile GameDev Awards Winners Have Been Announced

The Mobile GameDev Awards is only in its second year, the awards were made to recognize absolute excellence in the mobile gaming industry, covering mobile game innovation and feature design in the USA, China, and Japan. The 2022 version recently took place, and the categories and winners were revealed by mobile game analytics specialists GameRefinery.

The seven categories were chosen with the utmost care and skill, they are as followed:

  • Innovation and Excellence in Core Gameplay, (all regions)
  • Most Promising Soft Launch Game, (all regions) 
  • Biggest Evolver individually in USA, Japan, China
  • Best Newcomer individually in USA, Japan, China 
  • Best Feature Innovation, Best Event individually in USA, Japan, China 
  • Best Use of IP in Collaboration Events (all regions).

So, now it’s the time you have been waiting for, for an event that you probably didn’t know existed.

USA Winner: Clash Royale 

Japan Winners: State of Survival

China Winners: Plants Versus Zombies 2

Best Newcomer

The best new entry into the market during 2021:

USA Winners: Beatstar 

Japan Winners: Umamusume Pretty Derby

China Winners: Harry Potter Magic Awakened

So, there we have it, the winners have been confirmed. There are not many surprises and the big names in mobile gaming took the obvious ones, but it’s good to give these titles some credit because they are still impressive nonetheless.
