Nintendo has much to celebrate today, as Super Mario Maker has sold 1 million units worldwide.

Super Mario Maker has also seen 2.2 million courses being made, and 75 million plays of those courses.

Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aimeshared this statement in a press release.

For Mario fans around the world, including myself, Super Mario Maker was a dream 30 years in the making. The game has captured and unlocked the imaginations of gaming fans of all ages and brought their dedication to Nintendo to a whole new level.

At this point, it’s clear that Super Mario Maker joins the list of Wii U must haves. Are you still holding back on this purchase? Or are you already making your own courses? Feel free to share your comments – and course IDs – in the comments.
