Nintendo made some interesting announcements regarding the pending Western release of Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Lynn, the sassy prodigy who helps make and maintain the Skells, and is one of the main members of your party, gets a little older for the Western version. From being 13 in Japan, she will be canonically 15 for the West. It is highly likely this was decided upon by Nintendo of America’s localization team, the Treehouse.
There is another change that should please all Western gamers. Nintendo plans to incorporate the four character DLC the Japanese had to buy separately into the base game for ¥500 each. These four characters are named Axana, Boze, HB, and Yelve. Each character has two unique Special Arts and blueprints, and if you complete their quests, can be added to your party.
There are other DLC, but Nintendo has not commented on these for the moment. At least it seems Nintendo is more invested in enticing more gamers to buy Xenoblade Chronicles X than charging them more down the line.
Do you agree with Nintendo’s decision to raise Lynn’s age for the West? Are you more likely to buy the game now that its character DLC will be part of the base game? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
Xenoblade Chronicles X will be released on December 4 for North America, Europe, and Australia, exclusively for Wii U.
