A New Project Has Been Teased by a Deathloop Voice Actor

May 18, 2022 by John McDonald

It’s not a DLC though!

It’s always nice to get the inside scoop isn’t it, and this time it’s in the form of a Deathloop voice actor who has teased fans with the rumors of a new project in the offing. Jason E. Kelley is the voice actor in question, and he took to Twitter to announce his excitement about the possibility of a new game.

Oooooooooo! Cannot wait to share what this one is. #backinthelab #voiceacting #games #vo #deathloop #coltjustcolt #baftagames pic.twitter.com/drsMWDtpLD

The tweet shows an image of Kelley in a voice acting booth (clue one, right there) and captioned it: “Oooooo! Cannot wait to share what this one is.” And you as you can see from the picture, this is one extremely excited man.

The plot thickens though because when Kelley was asked by a follower if the new project involved Deathloop DLC, Kelley squashed that notion by saying, “Nooope. New title. That’s all I can say.” Keeping things very close to his chest it seems, the crafty fox.

With this announcement from the Deathloop voice actor, it opens up the possibility of some new and exciting titles. One possibility could be a Deathloop spin-off, which would explain Kelley’s involvement and enthusiasm, and could also mean that his character Colt would be included once again.

A spin-off game is a very likely idea as well because Arkane Studios has been known to create expansions for some of its other games. Dishonored 2 and Prey were two titles that received post-release expansions and Dishonored 2’s Death of the Outsider was eventually made into its own standalone release.

Deathloop is currently a PlayStation 5 exclusive because of a deal the makers made with Id Software, but an Xbox version of the game is due to be released in September 2023, which is a long way off, we know. But if we add two and two together, and if Kelley is reprising his role as Colt for a new project, then it may very well be this version of the game. This is all hearsay though, so let’s see what happens in the future.
