Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios have announced the cars and courses that'll be making up Forza Motorsport 4 demo scheduled to hit Xbox Live on October 3.
The online demo will essentially be the same slice of the game that Microsoft showed off at E3. That means you'll be getting one track, Bernese Alps, and four cars, the 2011 Subaru WRX STI, the 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator, the 2011 Ferrari 599 GTO, and the comparatively modest Kia Cee'd.
You'll also be able to try out Forza 4's new Rivals mode, which lets you go head to head against your friends even when they're offline. In effect, it's a natural extension of leaderboards. You download another driver's ghost, race against it to beat their time, and collect a bounty that scales based on how well your rival's time stacks up against the rest of the globe.
The announcement also revealed that those without Xbox Live Gold accounts will have to wait another week, until October 10, to grab the demo.
The 360-exclusive Forza Motorsport 4 begins its staggered worldwide launch October 11 in North America. Australia will be getting the game on the 13, Europe on the 14, and Japan on the 20.
