Final Fantasy XV: Translated Active Time Report Shows How Navigating The World Can Be Chill

September 8, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Every effort has been made so that your navigation through the sprawling open world is enjoyable, even relaxing.

The Final Fantasy XV team gave fans a better idea of how the navigation and transportation systems are coming along. Every effort has been made so that your navigation through the sprawling open world is enjoyable, even relaxing.

While you can drive the car yourself, chances are most of the time you will put it on autopilot, since the system has been made so convenient. You will see Ignis taking the wheel in this case, and you can set certain parking locations as destinations for your car. The car can be sent  to these parking locations even when your party’s left it behind. This is particularly useful for when you start going down on foot and exploring, although you may have to pay Cindy to do this for you.

The team wants you to do precisely this without hesitation. Any time you are in the car, you can always stop to take a look at the scenery, and start exploring, even on the highway. Any area you can reasonably access, you can explore, even below roads, and on nooks and crevices. These can open up new areas, even new cities, for you to access.

There are several views while in the car, such as Joyride view, which gives you a feel of the mood between you and your companions, Driver view, which lets you see Ignis’ POV, Tail view, which gives you a great view of the car and its surroundings from behind, and Scenic view, which gives you the most eye candy out of all the views.

The team also shared some tidbits on progress between other elements, with noteworthy progress on the ladder movement system (your companions will follow you up and down ladders) and sliding (you can slide across uneven terrain). You can check out as much as the team is willing to reveal in the translated Active Time Report video above.

Final Fantasy XV is in development for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
