Star Wars Battlefront Won’t Feature a Server Browser

September 3, 2015 by Stephen Daly

A ‘new skill-based matchmaking’ system will be used instead.

Star Wars Battlefront will not feature a server browser utility, instead implementing a "new skill-based matchmaking system."

EA community manager Sledgehammer70 confirmed the news on the game's sub-Reddit page. Other DICE games including Battlefield 4 have traditionally had the option to choose from a variety of servers hosting different maps, players numbers, modes, and the option to find active games with friends.

This was also confirmed by the game's Twitter account:

@BSanbizzle Star Wars Battlefront will not offer a server browser, but will utilize a new skill based matchmaking system.

"I want to have specific, favourite servers with communities I know etc.," one fan wrote on the sub-Reddit page. "I want to have servers with one map only. Matchmaking won't offer me that."

News of this comes shortly after EA announced a beta for the shooter will take place on all platforms in October.
