Free PlayStation Plus Games for September 2015

August 24, 2015 by Michael Fossbakk

Also introducing the first game voted for by players.

The free games that will be available in September for PlayStation Plus subscribers have been revealed and include Grow Home, a game that was voted for by players, and 2014’s Super Time Force Ultra in its debuted on PlayStation platforms, PlayStation announced today.

Grow Home is a game by Ubisoft Reflections that was originally released on PC on Feb. 4, 2015. In it, players play a robot named BUD (Botanical Utility Droid) on a quest to bring new flora to his home planet. This is accomplished by growing and climbing a giant beanstalk called a “Star Plant.” BUD must harvest the Star Plant’s seeds and return them to his planet for harvest.

Grow Home was up against two other games, Armello and Zombie Vikings, this past month, as players voted on which of the three games would make it into the free PlayStation Plus lineup in September. Grow Home received the most votes and thus will be one of the free games next month; however, Armello and Zombie Vikings will be discounted 30% from Sept. 1-15 for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

Super Time Force Ultra, an updated version of Super Time Force with new guest characters from Valve-owned games like Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead, was originally released on Aug. 25, 2014. It’s induction into the PlayStation Plus Instant Games Library also marks it’s debuted on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The PS4 and PS Vita version of the game will additionally include president of Sony’s Worldwide Studios for Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. Shuhei Yoshida as a playable character.

Other games being offered for free for PlayStation Plus subscribers in September include Xeodrifter on PS4 and PS Vita, Twisted Metal on PS3, Teslagrad for PS4 and PS3, and La Mulana EX for PS Vita.

Once September’s games are ushered onto the service on Sept. 1, August’s offerings, which include Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris and Limbo, will no longer be free.
