Attack On Titan Season 4 is the end of the anime that helped redefine what an anime can do for audiences around the world. Because while it’s very true that anime have been in our lives since the 80s and 90s, one could make the argument that it was because of Attack on Titan that we got an “anime boom”. One that was built upon further by shows like My Hero Academia, Demon Hunter, and so on. This show did a lot, and many thought that Part 2 would be the end of everything. But they were wrong, because Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 3 is coming next year.
This comes as both a shock and relief to fans for various reasons. It’s a shock because there was no indication of this happening at all, and some were even saying that the final episode of Part 2 (which just aired over the weekend) would be the “series finale”. And yet, then a teaser for Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 3 arrived and stated that it would be arriving in “Early 2023.”
The relief if you will comes from the content. Because the Attack On Titan manga is done, finished. In fact, it was finished last year and it definitely moved a lot of people (and a lot of units sales-wise). But those who watched Part 2 realized that there was still a lot of content within the manga that hadn’t been brought into the anime, so how could it be done? Well, now we know.
Granted, we don’t know how many episodes will be a part of third sect of episodes. And…if we’re being honest here…we’re not even confident in saying that Part 3 will be the end of the anime.
All we can do is wait and see how it all plays out.
