A New Battlefield is in Development for 2016, Confirms EA

DICE is going to release a new Battlefield game in 2016, EA has revealed. Speaking at the company's latest investor call, company CFO Blake Jorgensen told investors that the studio is currently working on and plans to release a new title in the Battlefield series next year.

"What we've said is that our intention over the next couple of years is to have a first-person shooter as one of the core titles," said Jorgnsen. "This year, obviously, it's Star Wars Battlefront. Next year, it's another Battlefield title."

Nothing is known about what it could be, but it could be anything from Battlefield 5 to a proper follow-up to Battlefield 2142 or the Bad Company games. 

The studio is currently working on Star Wars Battlefront, which is out on November 17 for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
