Dead Rising: Watchtower Gets An International Release

July 28, 2015 by Vanessa Lopa

The movie is based on Capcom’s Dead Rising game franchise.

Dead Rising: Watchtower follows the story of Chase Carter, a reporter who’s just trying to make it big. What was supposed to be his career-defining story could turn out to be career- and life-ending.

The world hasn’t ended yet, and ambitious duo Chase and Jordan, his camerawoman, went inside the quarantine zone. Zombies are nothing new to them, but outbreaks are an uncommon occurrence. Prior outbreaks were contained in the nick of time, but many of the survivors abandoned in the quarantine zone carry the zombie virus in their blood. All that’s preventing a new outbreak is an antidote called Zombrex – but for some mysterious reason, it fails to work and triggers an outbreak.

Chase gets stuck in the quarantine zone, but Jordan makes it out; the story begins to play from two perspectives. Jordan sets out to unravel what could have caused the Zombrex to fail, she along with the rest of the media and officials observe from outside. Meanwhile, Chase battles to survive in the quarantine zone, kept company loner-with-a-secret Crystal, and grief-stricken mother Maggie. Under these circumstances, they’re forced to question what they’re willing to do to survive and their own sense of humanity.

We’ll leave you with these two trailers, which give us a glimpse into what Dead Rising: Watchtower will be like.

Dead Rising: Watchtower is based on the popular Capcom game franchise, Dead Rising, which has sold over 8.2 million copies worldwide.
