Killing Floor 2 to Add New Weapons Including Backwards-Firing RPG

July 20, 2015 by Michael Fossbakk

When malfunctioning RPGs work out in your favor.

Killing Floor 2, a game currently in Early Access on Steam, will be adding new weapons to that game that include a particularly explosive pistol and an interesting take on a malfunctioning RPG, developer Tripwire recently announced.

Dubbed the Incinerate ‘n’ Detonate update, Killing Floor 2 will be getting a pistol that shoots explosive ammunition. Designed to be fired from a close range, the pistol will shoot the explosive ammunition in a spread, sort of like a shotgun. If needed, the pistol can also fire a grenade at a longer range than its typical range.

The aforementioned RPG is designed to occasionally shoot the rocket out of the back of the launcher and explode right behind the player. Whether this is completely random or by some design that the player can control remains to be seen.

The update will also include C4, a grenade launcher, a flamethrower, Molotov cocktails, and a pistol and trench gun with incendiary rounds. There is no known release date for Incinerate ‘n’ Detonate.

In April, it was revealed that purchasers of Killing Floor 2 would be purchasing not a copy of the game, but a limited use license to play it with strict anti-discrimination and anti-cheating clauses written into the EULA that also require creators of mods for Killing Floor 2 to give up the rights to their mods.
