Evil Dead: The Game Gets Trailer Featuring Bruce Campbell

March 11, 2022 by Carley Garcia

Campbell portrayed Ash Williams in the original film franchise.

Almost exactly three months until the (supposed) launch of Evil Dead: The Game, a new trailer is taking aim at fans of the original film franchise. Bruce Campbell, the actor behind Ash Williams, narrates the gruesome events of the exciting new gameplay trailer. Previously, Campbell provided commentary for another trailer showing off the asymmetric combat players can expect in the new horror title.

The trailer also shows off the abilities of the Kandarian Demon, a new character coming to Evil Dead: The Game.

Command vicious Deadites, set diabolical traps, possess survivors and swallow some souls!

The main antagonist in the Evil Dead films, players will be able to step into the role of the Kandarian Demon to possess other characters, haunt various objects, and summon Deadites to get in the way of the good guys.

“Take control of your Deadite minions, environmental objects (including those infamous trees!), and even the survivors themselves to frighten and vanquish any mortal who stands in your way,” reads the monster’s description. “Choose the physical form of the Kandarian Demon that fits your playstyle, each with different enemy types and bosses including Henrietta, Eligos, and Evil Ash.”

Dana DeLorenzo will play Kelly Maxwell, while Ray Santiago will portray Pablo Simon Bolivar from the Ash vs Evil Dead television series.

Initially scheduled for release in 2021, the game was first delayed last August, with an updated release window set for February 2022. In January, the game was bumped back again to its current release date.

“This delay gives our team the time they need to get things just right, so your boomstick will be polished, fully loaded, and ready to blast Deadites on that Friday the 13th of May,” said the dev team in a January Twitter post. “We thank you for your patience and understanding.”

Evil Dead: The Game is scheduled for release on May 13, 2022 for PC via the Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
