UPDATE: The PlayStation Network issues have been resolved and service has returned to normal.
If you are trying to log into the PlayStation Network right now, you might be experiencing issues related playing games, PlayStation Now, the PlayStation Store, according to the PSN status page.
As of 2:30 p.m. ET today, Sony updated their PSN status page to reflect the issues affecting users attempting to launch “games, applications, and/or social features such as trophies, messaging, or friends list.” The outage is also affecting users attempting to access the PlayStation Now video game streaming service. And, last but not least, the outage is also affecting users attempting to use the PlayStation Store to purchase, download, browse, search, or redeem codes through the digital marketplace.
The outage comes as July’s free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers go live today. The free games include Rocket League, Styx: Master of Shadows, and Mousecraft for PS4; Entwined for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita; Rain for PS3; and Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved for PS Vita. In June, PlayStation Europe announced on the fifth anniversary of PlayStation Plus’s launch in Europe that the free PlayStation plus games would go live for the service on the first Tuesday of the month, the same date used for PlayStation Plus in North America.
