The Vanishing of Ethan Carter To Appear On PS4 This Month

July 6, 2015 by Vanessa Lopa

The "weird fiction horror" game will be running on Unreal Engine 4.

A promise is a promise: A new trailer that Sony shared at Gamescom last year confirmed that Polish developer The Astronauts will be bringing The Vanishing of Ethan Carter to PlayStation 4 this year, and we have received confirmation via the PlayStation Store that it's coming very soon.

The open world, “weird fiction horror” game that plays out a little bit Lovecraftian. You play as a detective that has the supernatural ability to visualize the scene of a crime, looking into the disappearance of a young boy named Ethan Carter. Your task is to explore the world looking for clues, which sounds easy enough, but can get frustrating if your playing style doesn’t match how the game is built. You can read our review of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter here.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter will be running on the Unreal Engine 4 for the PlayStation 4 release, and will be available on July 15th. You can pre-order it here
