Nintendo has dated the release for its "Slide Pad Extension," a cradle attachment which includes an additional joystick.  An image of the device, which was since confirmed by Nintendo yesterday, was leaked last week in Famitsu.

The release of the product is scheduled for December 10, 2011 at a price of ¥1,500. For owners of the Nintendo 3DS, the device will allow users to operate the camera with their right hand, and certain 3DS-exclusive games will use it for other features. Nintendo added that the cradle will require the use of a single AAA battery, and can't be used alone.

Games compatible with the Slide Pad Extension include the following:

Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) G

Biohazard (Resident Evil) Revelations

Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D

Ace Combat 3D Cross Rumble
