PlayStation Network Issues Affecting Some PS3, PS4 Users

June 26, 2015 by Michael Fossbakk

Just in time for the weekend.

Some people are having trouble playing games on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, according to the PlayStation Network service status page.

The status update from 4:25 p.m. ET says that some players on PS3 and PS4 “may be experiencing issues related to launching certain games or game functionality.” Sony notes that these issues are “due to factors external to PSN.”

Today, Sony also acknowledged issues with slow PlayStation Network download speeds in response to a forum posting on the European PlayStation website.

“We are aware of reports that some users are experiencing slower then [sic] usual download speeds from the PlayStation Store,” the response reads. “This has been reported to our network team for investigation. Please keep an eye on this thread for updates.”

It is unclear what percentage of the PSN user-base has been affected by this, but upon booting up my PS4 and copy of Batman: Arkham Knight, I had no issues aside from the PS4 leaderboards for Arkham Knight still not working.
