Blizzard: At Least Six New Titles in Three Years

Blizzard has announced plans to release at least six new titles—a number which includes expansion packs—in the next three years. Speaking to attendees of the Citi 2011 Technology Conference, Activision-Blizzard COO Thomas Tippl said that customers could anticipate six "proven property" releases from Blizzard.

He clarified that five of them would be expansion packs, including two new add-ons for World of Warcraft, neither of which have been properly announced; two remaining campaigns for Starcraft II, which include Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void; and a single unnamed expansion for Diablo III.

Diablo III, which is now well into beta, is expected to be released soon. Given the predictable success of Diablo III, there's very little doubt that Blizzard will stop at a single expansion.

Tippl did not say anything about the MMO title currently in development at the studio, which has been extremely tightlipped about the as-yet-unannounced game.
