Skyrim Meets Minecraft in this Dragon Mod

September 9, 2011 by Ian Miles Cheong

You can now slay dragons in Minecraft with this new Skyrim Dragon mod for the game.

Behold: The dragons are on their way to Skyrim. No, Bethesda isn't making a mod for the game, but Minecraft fan thatsgerman2010 is putting his talents to great use in this new Skyrim Dragon Mob for Minecraft.

The mod simply adds a new Dragon mob into the game, sharing similar characteristics of the dragons in Bethesda's upcoming title, Skyrim. The dragon will fly in the air until it spots the player, upon which it will start to breathe fire from the sky and destroy everything within its path, which melts everything besides obsidian and bedrock. You'll have to slay this beast by pelting it with enough arrows to injure it, and cut it down with your sword when it lands.

He's still looking for some assistance with textures and models, so if you'd like to bring the flying scaly lizards to Minecraft and infuse it with a little bit of fantasy goodness, be sure to check out the Work in Progress thread on the Minecraft forums.
