Bandai Namco’s Rise of Incarnates Launches on PC July 1

June 9, 2015 by Michael Fossbakk

Will be free-to-play at launch.

Rise of Incarnates, the two-versus-two (2v2) competitive co-op battle arena game from Bandai Namco, will be released on July 1, 2015 on Steam for Windows PC, the developer announced today.

The free-to-play game will pit two pairs of players against each other in an arena where the goal is to deplete the enemy team’s “stock pool,” a resource that allows a team to respawn after dying. The first team to deplete the enemy’s stock pool first wins.

In the backdrop of all of the competitive action that will play out in gameplay is a story of impending natural disaster that gives rise to a group of people with unique, superhuman abilities.  These people come to be known as incarnates. Factions are formed and eventual confrontations are made, setting the fictional frame for the fights that players will play out as part of the primary gameplay.

Bandai Namco has also said that in addition to the characters found on the game’s official website (as of this writing), the developer will also be adding the character Zeus for a total of 12 playable fighters, as well as a new map set in Washington D.C. at the launch of the game.

On July 1 at 5 p.m. ET, Bandai Namco will also be holding a livestream on Twitch with professional competitive video game players where they will talk about the game, conduct interviews and provide tips and strategies for playing the game.

Rise of Incarnates was announced in April of last year at Bandai Namco’s Global Gamers Day.
