An Ugly First Look at Nintendo’s New Analog Slider Add-On

September 7, 2011 by Ian Miles Cheong

Famitsu gives us a first look at Nintendo’s ugly new analog slider add-on, which is sure to leave you gagging.

3ds

Nintendo might well be losing the plot with the announcement that it plans to release a new add-on for its failing Nintendo 3DS handheld console. The add-on, which remains unnamed as of yet, adds a second Circle Pad to the device and comes in a cradle for the 3DS.

It looks pretty damn ugly.

According to Famitsu, which published the first image of the add-on (that I later saw scanned on Reddit), the cradle is designed to be an attachment for Capcom's upcoming Monster Hunter 3G, a 3DS-ified version of Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii.

If this is what Nintendo had to do to get the game as an exclusive from Capcom, they may well have gotten a pretty raw deal, given the amount of derision that this reveal has generated. Well, calling it "derision" is just a way of putting it lightly.

Oh well, at least Nintendo will have a Killer App on their dying platform. Their ugly dying platform.

Thanks Kotaku.
