Square Enix Announces Figure Heads, an Anime-Inspired Mech Shooter

June 8, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Stride into battle with an armed mech.

Final Fantasy XV publisher Square Enix has unveiled a new mech shooter called Figure Heads.

Primed for the publisher's Japanese audience, Figure Heads is a 5v5 online multiplayer game in which players take on the roles of fully customizable super kawaii desu~ mecha pilots who participate in a MechWarrior-like team-based arena competition.

We don't know if they'll be showcasing the game at E3, but the game is set for release sometime in 2015, exclusively for the PC. More details will become available on June 10 through the game's Japanese website. According to the page, the game will be free-to-play.

You can watch the game's first trailer, which shows off some of the character choices, mechs, some gameplay, and even a little bit of CGI.
