Batman Arkham Knight: Character Poster Roundup

June 7, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Each poster shares a little bit of what we need to know about each character coming into the final Arkham game.

Our friend CabooseXBL runs down the poster reveals for Batman: Arkham Knight. You can subscribe to him on YouTube here. I'll be sharing my own thoughts on each of the posters below:

I'm not too fond of Nightwing's poster. It's an awkward pose that gives us a bad view of his face and body, and fans who aren't familiar with the character may not recognize him. In any case, he does look better in-game.

The influence of Chris O'Donnell's look has somehow endured the Schumacher films and makes it to the Arkham games. Your mileage may vary but I think he looks decent enough, even if this isn't my favorite incarnation of the Boy Wonder.

Selina Kyle's costume takes cues from several versions of her through the years, combining to make a Catwoman who is unique to the Arkham games, but is still highly recognizeable. This Catwoman is as classic as Coca-Cola.

I'm not actually fond of the correctional facility shirt look on Ivy. At the same time, I do admire the care and attention Rocksteady have placed on her design. When Rocksteady says she was the hardest character to design, they allude to the unique elements that make her costume. The plant elements look believable, and they pull off making it look menacing as well.

This is not the same clean cut, diabolical Edward Nygma we know well, and it shows. The scratch across Nygma's undershirt alludes heavily to the grudge he bears coming into this game, and the disparity between what we see here and what we know him to be makes this poster striking.

Finally, Two-Face was the most recently revealed, and he looks as menacing as ever. Again, there is a scratch on him, bearing a Sagat-like grudge that we expect to find a final resolution in Batman: Arkham Knight.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows on June 23, 2015.
