Sword Coast Legends Will Offer Cross-Play Compatibility Over Steam

June 2, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Sword Coast Legends harkens back to the classic RPGs of old.

Sword Coast Legends is the upcoming role-playing game set in Dungeons & Dragons' Forgotten Realms setting, where most of the action takes place on the Sword Coast.

Developed by n-Space, Wizards of the Coast and Digital Extremes, the party-based RPG is a throwback to classic pause-and-play RPGs like Baldur's Gate and Dragon Age: Origins, which should come as no surprise given that the game's lead dev Dan Tudge also served as the director of Dragon Age: Origins.

According to the game's creators, Sword Coast Legends is slated for a Q3 release on the PC, Mac and Linux through Steam. According to the developers, the game , which has multiplayer features and dungeon mastering in it, will offer cross-play support between all three platforms. Anyone who buys the game will be able to redeem it across all platforms a single key.

Sword Coast Legends uses D&D's 5th Edition ruleset, featuring a deeply interwoven single-player campaign, as well as four-player co-op.

The game can be pre-ordered through Steam for $34.99. There are also Digital Deluxe and Collector's Editions available for $59.99 and $239.99, respectively.

I interviewed the game's lead developer Dan Tudge not too long ago to talk about what the game has to offer fans of the RPG genre, so check that out here.
