Moonrise is like Pokemon for the PC

May 22, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

It’s about time we’ve seen a Pokemon-like game for the PC.

Undead Labs, the makers of State of Decay, have announced a brand new PC title that strongly resembles Pokemon. To date, the only game to ever please Pokemon fans outside of Pokemon has been World of Warcraft's Pet Battles minigame, which isn't all that great.

Needless to say, there's a lot of demand for a Pokemon-like game on the PC, and Moonrise appears to be the answer to that demand. The game is set for release on Steam Early Access for the PC and Mac on May 27th.

Like Pokemon, there's a full single player campaign, as well as a PvP battle system where you can take your monsters online and do battle against other players.

Despite being advertised as "real time speed", battles appear to be turn-based with an active time battle system similar to some of the Final Fantasy games.
