Persona 5 Currently Not Planned For New Platforms According To Insider

December 15, 2021 by Dennis Patrick

New rumors circling online suggest there’s nothing in the works for Persona 5.

Atlus delivered a massive hit when they launched the latest mainline installment to the Persona franchise. Persona 5 was a huge success. Likewise, it’s bound to stay among the rankings for one of the best RPGs ever. It’s gained a new following for the franchise in general. That’s thanks to its thrilling narrative, interesting characters, bright and colorful visuals, along with an upbeat soundtrack. Although, there is one major problem with the game. It’s actually only available on PlayStation consoles.

For years now there have been rumors that suggest Persona 5 would release on additional platforms. These are nothing but rumors as there’s been no official announcement yet. Instead, if you want to enjoy this instant classic, you have to own a PlayStation console. Unfortunately, if the latest rumor going around online is to be believed, that’s going to stay the same for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately, a prominent industry insider on Twitter for the franchise recently tweeted out to their followers. It looks like there are no plans right now to bring out a new port for Persona 5. Likewise, it looks like there are no exclusive deals right now either. If that’s the case, Atlus has nothing stopping it from bringing Persona 5 out onto competitive platforms. Again, this is purely a rumor right now as there’s nothing officially stated from Atlus about the future of the game installment.

While you can’t play Persona 5 on platforms like the Xbox One, PC, or Nintendo Switch, you can enjoy the spin-off release, Persona 5 Strikers. We’re certainly amazed that the game hasn’t been made available on the competitive platforms yet. For now, we’ll have to wait for an official announcement on whether players will get a new means to enjoy the latest mainline Persona installment that’s not directly tied to PlayStation.
