Halo Infinite Battle Pass Priced at $10, No Expiry Date

November 8, 2021 by Carley Garcia

It’s swappable too.

One month from today, Halo fans will embark on the next great adventure. Ahead of the release of Halo Infinite, 343 Industries has announced more about the battle pass system and what players can expect to pay for specific customization options and bonus rewards. As previously revealed, these battle passes won’t expire, and the first will appear on the game’s release day, December 8, 2021.

Passes will cost $10, and thankfully, Infinite won’t feature loot boxes–so you know what you’re getting ah read of time. These passes will never expire, but players should keep in mind that only one can be active at a time. They can be swapped at will, and only one can be progressed at a time. Nearly every quarter of the battle pass will offer a canon-related legendary cosmetic or a new customization with special attributes. Event awards will be separate.

Announced in June 2021, the first battle pass will be based on Halo: Reach. Titled Heroes of Reach, players can expect Reach-inspired customization options along with other rewards like armor kits and special Death Effects. Something (strangely) important to note: no battle pass will include anything “uncharacteristic” of our beloved Master Chief. Don’t expect Fortnite-style dances, basically. Outside of the battle pass system, players can unlock new customization options through the game’s campaign and the completion of weekly challenges.

Events will go live “every few weeks” and will have specific reward tracks. A recurrent event, the Fracture, will return monthly and offer its own strange rewards such as samurai armor and other interesting fashion options for your character.

Halo Infinite will launch on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on December 8, 2021, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass on launch day. Originally planned as a launch title with the Xbox Series X/S in November 2020, the game announced a delay in August 2020.
