Heroes of the Storm Forges Its Way Into Open Beta

May 20, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Heroes of the Storm is now in open beta, free for everyone.

Blizzard's just announced that its multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) title and spin-off of DOTA-style gameplay, Heroes of the Storm, has just entered beta. Anyone can download the game starting today and play for free with a weekly rotation of heroes.

Today marks the beginning of the open beta period for the free-to-play title. All you need to get into the game is to download the Battle.net client and then grab the game. Like Blizzard's other title Hearthstone, you don't need to do anything to get in.

The game will lose its beta status on June 2 when it's set to officially launch. Blizzard has promised that more heroes will be added to the game as time passes and development of the title will continue beyond its 'retail' release.

The studio put together a video titled Enter the Nexus, showcasing the title and what it has to offer players. Watch it to get caught up with the game.
