PlayStation 5 Finally Has A DualSense Alternative

December 8, 2021 by Dennis Patrick

Get a bit more competitive with these controllers.

The PlayStation 5 is a massively popular console platform. It was released during the height of the pandemic. Likewise, its popularity and the lack of chips in the market have made it tough to find these units out in the wild. With that said, you do have a better chance of picking up the DualSense. This is the latest controller model for the PlayStation, and with it comes unique features. Although, there are always some gamers looking to get a bit more competitive edge against the competition.

Some alternative companies provide some controllers that offer a bit more customization options. One of those companies around for ages now is Scuf Gaming. You likely already know of them. They deliver more premium controllers that come packed with extra buttons or features. It’s essentially a controller that can map out some inputs to make pulling off moves a bit easier. With that said, they usually come with profile options so you can keep a few of your favorite game controls mapped out on the controller itself.

Upcoming Scuf Reflex

As mentioned, Scuf Gaming has brought out some new models based on the actual DualSense board. Now, these are pricer than a standard DualSense, and we haven’t tried them out, so this is not an endorsement. But, it’s an option to potentially check into if you’re after some controllers that have all the DualSense features while packing on some customization options or additional buttons. Apparently, these first third-party DualSense controllers will be coming out next year in 2022.

For the base model, you’ll have to fetch over $199.99. From there, it can get over $259.99, so if you’re just a casual gamer, then you might not find these controllers useful. Then again, if you have been searching for some DualSense alternatives for competitive games, then here are the first few that will potentially hit the marketplace in the upcoming year.
