Grand Theft Auto Online – The Contract DLC Brings Back Franklin Clinton

We finally see how Franklin has been doing after GTA V ended.

The Grand Theft Auto franchise is massive, and its last major hit release came out nearly a decade ago. Grand Theft Auto V not only tossed players into this massive lively open-world map, but it had three protagonists. Rather than having a single protagonist throughout the campaign, Rockstar Games gave three individuals with their own unique missions. Included in the mix was Franklin Clinton.

At the start of the game, Franklin boosts cars and tries to earn some money. Throughout the campaign of Grand Theft Auto V, Franklin earns some big paydays while getting his hands dirty. Unfortunately, Rockstar Games didn’t opt to bring these characters back for DLC since the campaign concluded. That has since changed with Franklin Clinton popping back up in the upcoming GTA Online update, The Contract. Thanks to this update, we get a glimpse into how Franklin is doing all these years later.

The Contract shows Franklin runs a unique agency made for the celebrity elites. But, with the rich and powerful come their own set of problems that need to be resolved. Franklin discovers that artist Dr. Dre has his phone swiped. Containing unreleased music, Franklin takes on the job of securing the phone before it ends up in the wrong hands. Not only do Franklin and Dr. Dre pop up in this DLC, but it looks like Lamar is showing up as well.

With as many fans that these characters have, this is one DLC that will likely have quite a few players eagerly jumping online to play. But, of course, we’re also wondering if this means we’ll get additional DLC to detail what the other two main protagonists are up to since the campaign concluded. Players can expect The Contract update to hit Grand Theft Auto Online on December 15, 2021.
