Naughty Dog delivered The Last of Us, and it wasn’t long after that it was remastered for the PlayStation 4. Now that we have a sequel available and a new series adaptation being worked on. That alone might make sense to deliver a new remake or a remastered edition. At least that seems to be the rumor going around right now.
Naughty Dog is a big-name studio for Sony. They have delivered several iconic exclusives over the years, whether it was Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter, Uncharted, or The Last of Us. With The Last of Us, this was a game that blew up in a massive way, including the thrilling narrative, interesting characters, and some detailed gameplay. Now, as mentioned, we’re getting a live-action HBO adaptation. If this series comes out, there will likely be quite a few newcomers who haven’t played the game yet. That might be one of the reasons a rumor is spreading around that Sony is remaking The Last of Us for the PlayStation 5.

Furthermore, the job posting will have the employee working on several studios. That might be one of the reasons more fans are suggesting a remake for The Last of Us is coming. So perhaps we may see another remastered edition rather than a remake, but this is all speculative again. Regardless, the video game is quite a hit, so it would make sense to see it released on the latest PlayStation console alongside the anticipated live-action series.
