Mario Kart fans might not have had a major new mainline installment in quite a few years. However, they have had some spinoff video game experiences with the likes of the mobile Mario Kart Tour game. Then there’s also the Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit video game. It’s a title with a physical RC car to control and a course you can create within a home. This makes the game a bit limited as you’ll need physical space to set the game up.
When the game hit the marketplace, some players might have found the game to be a bit bare. Today that could change up as there is a 2.0 update free for players to download and enjoy. This update brings in new content like a split-screen multiplayer mode or a Relay Race mode that allows for up to four players. That’s not all either, as you can find some additional levels to race around in.
Players will find that there are two new environments and even new Gate Types. In addition, new customization options bring in more variety to karts, and there are also new characters. This might sway some players into setting up their Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit track again to try out the latest update.
Still, there are plenty of players out there that are wanting the next major installment. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is just an updated version from Mario Kart 8 on the Nintendo Wii U. However, because Nintendo still sells Mario Kart 8 Deluxe units, it might be a good while before a Mario Kart 9 is announced. In the meantime, some players might hope an update to add new tracks could suffice for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
