Battlefield 2042 10-Hour Trial Coming to EA Play and Game Pass

November 4, 2021 by Carley Garcia

Perfect if you missed the demo.

Miss the Battlefield 2042 beta fiasco? Need a little more time to decide whether or not this purchase is one you need to make? Those with EA Play or Xbox Game Pass will be able to try the game for 10 full hours starting November 12. Those who have EA Play Pro, or those who pre-ordered the Gold or Ultimate editions of Battlefield 2042, will be able to play the full game on November 12 with the early access perk.

For those who are coming off the rather underwhelming beta, remember: EA Dice claimed that the build was a few months old at that point, and plenty had been altered or improved. Whether or not you believe this is a personal matter, and this ten hour offer might have players singing a different tune.

Yesterday, EA released a new trailer showing off more of the Battlefield Portal, a new feature allowing players to design their own custom matches. This is more exciting for those with some nostalgia for the Battlefield series, as content from Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, and the newest installment will all be available to choose from.

The newest Battlefield title will offer unique character classes, one thing it has lacked in previous The inclusion of ten new Specialist characters joining the game at launch has some players excited, and others skeptical–will this be enough to offer up engaging matches, or are options going to be too limited?

Battlefield 2042 is scheduled to be released on November 19, 2021, on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Those buying the digital standard edition of Battlefield 2042 on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will be eligible for a free new-gen upgrade. Fans have recently made it known that they believe the game should be delayed to receive some much-needed polish, but despite the beta’s issues, it looks like we’re on track for a release later this month.
